These beautiful chairs are innovation at its best, we are like excited child opening the boxes up to see them in all of their glory. Handmade by a small company with very big ideas, SolidWool is based in Buckfastleigh Devon and have developed a new way of working with wool.
Mixing bio resin with wool from Herdwick sheep, otherwise considered to be a worthless by-product to sheep farmers to produce the solid wool. The wool from these hardy sheep is historically used to make carpets because of its hard, dark and wiry nature....That is until the team in Buckfastleigh got their hands on it! The wiry nature of the wool gives a great tactile texture and I think you will agree a very unique appearance.
The bio-resin is also a friendly material, it has roughly a 30% bio-based renewable content sourced form streams of other industrial processes, such as wood-pulp and bio-fuels production. Its claimed to have a 50% reduction on carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions during manufacture over traditional resins..... This means you can sit comfortably, beautifully and ethically!
